Pixel Practice - Free Fruit!

I wanted to move on to icons, but boy are they difficult! I have yet to figure out how to properly do portraits. Everything is so small, I'm not yet sure how to manage it. I think I'll work on this one more before taking requests as I have in the past.

But I digress, the objects are a good start I think. I love how the watermelon turned out. I just need to get used to have less space to work with, and every pixel color counts for something! The portrait I just added because it pleased me somewhat, but ultimately it's not where I want to go. I would be open to any tips or tutorials you may know about.
